Arthur Lake

This lake is also known as Bhandardara Lake. Its existence dates back to the time when Wilson Dam was built across the Pravara River. It is at a height of 750 m and is one of the country’s largest clear lakes. You can do boating in this beautiful lake set amidst the dense forests of the Sahyadri Hills.

Wilson Dam

This dam is an example of engineering skills of the bygone days. It is built across the Pravana River. At the base of the dam is a garden with dense greenery, streams and huge trees. Throughout the day you will see harmless fruit bats hanging from the branches of trees.

Mount Kalsubai

Kalsubai is at 5500 ft. towering over Bhandardara. It is famous with trekkers. The peak has a small temple, and it is dedicated to Devi Kalsu. The name has ancient folklore behind it. It is the highest peak in Maharashtra.

The best season to visit Bhandardara is between November and April. Receding monsoon season at this hill resort is at its hilt. Summers are hot.
