Petronas Towers

Petronas Towers also known as Twin Towers are the tallest in the world. The height of the towers is 1,483 feet. It is a monument which brings Kuala Lumpur world recognition as the commercial and cultural capital city of Malaysia. The design of the towers imbibes in it the culture and heritage of Malaysia. It is an Islamic architecture with arabesques and geometric designs. It has an eight-point star at the top. Petronas Towers are linked by a bridge at the 41st floor. This bridge gives a stunning view of Kuala Lumpur down below. The towers provide a column free office space at each floor. Petronas Towers will always be identified with Kuala Lumpur. Batu Caves

Batu Caves are a labyrinth of spooky caves in Kuala Lumpur. The caves are awe-inspiring as the tourists reach them by climbing 272 steps. The Batu Caves are found in a limestone hill. They lie 13 km north of Kuala Lumpur. The shrine of Lord Murugan is in the cave, and the festival of Thaipusam is celebrated here.

Batu Caves are around 400 million years old. It is a complex with three main caves and other smaller ones. There are a diverse flora and fauna around the Batu Caves. Of late rock climbing is a sport of Kuala Lumpur and the Batu Caves offer different climbing routes. The caves can be reached by using the Komuter train and also by bus.

Merdeka Square (Independence Square)

The tourists find this square in Kuala Lumpur, right in front of Sultan Abdul Samad Building. This Independence Square saw the Malaysian flag proudly hoisted on August 31, 1957 at midnight.

The square is surrounded by a number of historic buildings. The square witnesses a gathering of thousands of people every New Year’s night. There are performances and fireworks all through the night to welcome the New Year in Kuala Lumpur.

Kuala Lumpur Bird Park

This is a colorful aviary in Kuala Lumpur occupying an area of 20.9 acres. It is a popular tourist attraction and adjacent to the Bird Park are the Lake Gardens.

The Bird Park opens for its viewers daily from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm. It’s a tranquil surrounding as you step into one of the world’s largest free-flight walk-in-aviary. It is admirable and thought provoking to see how the various bird species fly freely and live in complete harmony.

You are thrilled to see the Indian Blue Peacock dance during courtship. The feathers look astonishing with a riot of colors when spread out. The tourists see the crowned pigeon, the turkey, the yellow-billed stork, ibises, egrets and doves all merrily feeding and hopping around. It’s a rainforest environment in Kuala Lumpur. The Bird Park is only minutes away from Kuala Lumpur city center and from the central station.

Jamek Mosque

One of the oldest mosques in Kuala Lumpur, Jamek Mosque is visited by a number of tourist. It is at the confluence of Klang River and Gombak River. The architectural design of the mosque is a combination of Moorish Islam and Mogul. This mosque is actually built in Kuala Lumpur on the first Malay Burial Ground. At this mosque, you find peace as the area around has trees and the nearby rivers.

The tourists can walk up to the nearby attractions such as the China town, Little India and the Central market. Jamek Mosque is also known as the Friday Mosque.

KLCC Park in Kuala Lumpur

KLCC Park has an area of 50 acres. It is a public park. The park reflects vibrant colors, Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage and a beautiful tropical landscape. KLCC Park has an unmatched theme and concept. The children are all to themselves at the two-acre children’s playground having fun. The tourists find symphony fountain, shelters and benches to relax and admire the beauty around. For the health conscious there are walking paths, and jogging tracks. You find people in the wading pool trying to exercise their limbs. KLCC Park in Kuala Lumpur is a biodiversity park. Thean Thou Temple

A fantastic view of Kuala Lumpur is seen from the hill top temple. Thean Thou Temple is one of the largest Chinese temples that you will find in South-East Asia. It is located on Robson Hill. The architecture of the temple brings to light the beautiful Chinese architecture. A fountain of the Goddess of Mercy, statues of Gods and lions greet you before you enter the temple. On the Chinese New Year, the temple is lit with thousands of red lanterns. If you happen to be there, your gaze does not move from the majestic temple. The Thean Thou Temple is open daily from 8am to 9pm.
